Description
5-HTP, also known as oxitriptan, is a naturally occurring amino acid, chemical precursor, and metabolic intermediate in the production of the neurotransmitter serotonin. The direct precursor in the biosynthesis of SEROTONIN from tryptophan is 5-hydroxytryptophan. It is used to treat epilepsy and depression.
